Sophie, meet Sutton.

Sophie was very excited about her new baby brother. We were uncertain how she would react to him. She had identified with Jodi's stomach as being Sutton and even tried to stick her bottles or pacifiers in Jodi's belly button. I feared we had a major disconnect between belly and baby. She must be smarter than I gave her credit for. She has taken to Sutton very quickly and while she is still a little unsure about holding him, she tells the nurses and anyone who may listen about "baby brother" being a "big sister" or she simply may just say "Sutt" when asked if she has a new baby brother. It is an overwhelming experience to see the two lives you have created bond with one another. Here are a few shots of their first encounter, both through glass and live.
