Swimming at Aunt Deborah's

Katie and I showed up with the same swimsuit on (I got mine first). Sutton and Becca are getting so big!

Honoring Veterans for 5th Sunday Lunch at Church

The deacons planned a lunch to honor veterans and Grandpa was one of those honored. He went to Iraq during Desert Storm as part of the army reserves. It was a little wild getting the picture with the kids and the flags...we are lucky they didn't poke an eye out!

Dinner at Longhorn

We enjoy going out to eat on Friday nights with just our little family. We cook at home or make do almost every night during the week and it is a treat to go out on the weekend. I am so thankful that the kids are well behaved and we can go out and enjoy ourselves.
Except of course, when Sophie is climbing the walls:) I never said they were perfect!!!

Sophie's 2nd Haircut

The haircut went well. If you can tell from the pictures, Sophie was really tired! She as about to fall asleep in the chair. She has been so good with the haircuts...I guess it is because she didn't get her first cut till after she was 2 years old.
Amanda (Chad's cousin) does a great job on her cuts, but I think we will have to let Aunt Morgie do it soon. She is supposed to finish beauty school at the first of the year.
Sutton was a good boy and stayed in his carseat...he was exhausted too!

Hanging out with Uncle Matt

Matt and Morgan came over for dinner on Wednesday night. Chad and Morgan talked about wedding flowers (the wedding is September 24th). Matt ended up feeding Sutton his bottle and getting him to sleep. He is a great uncle and the kids love him. Sutton is his little buddy and always wants to go to him when he is around. We are so happy to have him as part of the family:)

Lunch with The Alfonso's

We had missed James, Amber, Karlee and Katelyn since our vacations overlapped and we hadn't seen them in about 2 weeks. We decided to get together for lunch after church and let the kids play.
They love each other so much!

Sutton is on the move. I think it was the next day that he took his first steps at Nanny's house at 10 1/2 months.

The only way to feed the kids is to take off all their clothes...it is amazing how big of a mess they can make!

Sunday Pictures...

So I definitely slacked on getting pictures at church each week. It is getting real hard to round up both kids and get them to smile/look at the camera at the same time. I need to be better about making it happen, but sometimes it just doesn't seem worth the trouble when they are tired and we (the kids and I) are hungry:) Here's this week's attempt.

Papa's Birthday

We celebrated Papa's birthday at Uncle Randall and Aunt Annie's on Sunday after church. We have lots of birthday celebrations in the Lamb family. It is always a great excuse to get together:)

Eliza's 5th Birthday Party

We got in from our trip to Disney around 2am on Saturday morning and spent the next day trying to recover. We went to Eliza Kate's 5th birthday party on Saturday evening and had a lot of fun!
The party was cowgirl themed so Sophie got to wear her boots and hat. They had a hayride, fishing and swimming. The kids a blast. I can't believe Eliza is already 5 and starting kindergarten this year...it won't be long and that will be Sophie.

Last Day at Disney...

We packed up the car for the trip home on Friday morning and then went to Hollywood Studios, Epcot and then back to Hollywood Studios before driving back. Chad had a few things he still wanted to ride and do and see at HS so we split up and the kids and I stood in line for the Toy Story ride. The fast pass wasn't an option b/c it was for a time after we planned to leave. The wait time said 25 minutes, but it ended up being more like an hour. We made friends with a couple and their son in line so they helped me chase Sophie as she was trying to climb on the props on display. Sophie got to play in the "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" area. Chad has pictures there from when he was a little boy:) We ate a quick lunch and then took the ferry over to Epcot to see Beauty and the Beast (and Belle...Sophie doesn't get that Beauty is Belle so we get all three names).

Timing worked out perfectly that we got there in line before they cut it off and pretty much got the pictures and headed back to Hollywood Studios to see the parade and get back to the car. The kids took a nap on the ferry so it worked out.

Sophie got a kiss from Belle and the lipstick prints to prove it:) She really liked Belle and was very concerned about which dress she would be wearing...the yellow one, the shiny one or the blue one!
The parade was fun and a good way to end our trip to Disney. We absolutely love it and can't wait to go back again soon! Now I can move on to other events over the past 2 months and get caught up on the blog...hopefully I haven't forgotten too much.

Magical Moment at Walt Disney World...

After a full day at the Animal Kingdom, we decided to head to Epcot in hopes of catching Beauty and The Beast and letting Chad ride a few rides so we could just go to Hollywood Studios the next day before the drive home.
We just missed the Belle and the lines were really long for the rides Chad still wanted to do. We did enjoy the Nemo ride and Crush The Turtle talk.
Chad and I had split up to see if he could get one ride in before the park closed. It was almost 10pm and I was going back to meet up with Chad when we went by the windows of "The Character Spot" and Sophie saw "all her friends." She insisted that we go see them (even though we had seen the characters numerous times during the week...as you can see from all the pictures). I wasn't planning on letting her b/c there was still a bit of line and it was just minutes before the park closed. I stopped for a second to talk to Chad on the phone and she got out of the stroller and pulled out her knew Minnie ears and said that she really needed to show Minnie b/c she would like them. How could I not let her see them? As I was getting them out of the stroller they locked the door...luckily I talked the lady into letting us in...very sweet. Sutton had used the bathroom so I had to go back out and get the stroller and bag. There was one lady in front of us who was off duty, but worked there. She helped me watch Sophie while I went back out to get the stroller. Chad was watching the fireworks and just planned to meet up with us so I had the two of them by myself at the time.
We got to see Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald and Goofy. Chad got there about the time we got to Goofy. Sophie was loving seeing all her friends!

When we got finished with the picture with Goofy the lady taking pictures said we should move to the other section where the lighting was better. We followed Goofy and he started banging on the backdrop with both hands...Sophie joined him. Then all the other characters came from behind the wall to take a picture with us! I was so excited and could not believe we were getting a picture with all the characters at once in our own little private photo session (we were the last ones in line so it was just us and the workers). This was truly a magical moment:)

Sophie did the hot dog dance with her friends before we left! The funny thing is I think she didn't think it was such a big deal because she thinks of them as her friends and it just seemed like the natural thing to do.

Disney Day 4 - Animal Kingdom

We spent the day at The Animal Kingdom. After breakfast with the characters at The Tusker house, we used the fast passes Chad got as soon as we arrived to go on the Safari. It was a great way to see all the animals (I'm a fan of riding instead of walking). One of our favorite things was the Finding Nemo musical. Sophie loved it and was very into it. I think we might be ready to take her to a musical soon:)
We saw lots of characters during the day and waited out an afternoon shower. We enjoyed a Lion King show and watched the parade around lunch time. We were really tired when we finished up at The Animal Kingdom, but we decided to suck it up and go on to Epcot and try to do a few things so we wouldn't need to accomplish as much the next day when we would be driving hom afterwards.
