Quick Beach Trip

We made a quick trip to the Perdido Key kind of at the last minute. Mom and Dad decided they wanted to take a vacation and invited all of us to come along. I didn't really have vacation time yet and we want to go to California in August/September before Sutton turns 2, but we didn't want to miss out on the family vacation. We hadn't been to the beach together since Katelyn and Sutton have been born. Amber, James, Karlee, Katelyn and Morgan were able to stay the entire week (Matt had to work). We drove got to the beach around 11am on Saturday and left at 4:30pm on Monday. We really made the most of it and spent a lot of time outside. The kids did great and took naps on the beach so we really had little reason to come in. We got the master suite since we were only there for two nights. Sophie slept on the chase lounge and Sutton was so worn out he had no trouble sleeping in the pack n play all night.
We always go to the Crab Trap, but we got a recommendation from some condo owners for Fisherman's Corner. It looked like a hole in the wall from the outside...like two trailers put together, but was very clean, white table clothes and good lighting on the inside. The food was awesome. Chad and I even went The ride home was a little eventful. When the kids woke up after we got to the interstate we tried to keep them up for a while so they wouldn't be wide awake when we got home late. We had the laptop so we popped in Nemo and propped it up on the arm rest. It seemed like a great idea until Sophie said "I think I drank too much milk". She was carsick and new that she was about to throw up. Luckily we had planned ahead and had a hospital pan with paper towels in the bottom. I got back between the carseats and was able to catch it all when she threw up. We spent some time cleaning up at a sketchy gas station, but after that she was fine and both kids slept the rest of the way home and stayed asleep through the night.

Nanny and Grandpa's Anniversary

We celebrated Nanny and Grandpa's Anniversary on Friday night before we headed to the beach. The kids had stayed there during the day and had been playing outside and looked pretty rough. We had dinner and gave presents and left from there to drive about 4 1/2 hours toward the beach. We stayed the night in Greeneville, AL and only had about 2 hours to drive the next morning.

Sutton loves to wrestle. Apparently he is pretty strong b/c he can bring Grant down.

Not a lot of cooperation with the pictures

Pictures on the Farm

Jennifer and I decided to take some pictures of the kids in the field at Don and Ginger's before the yellow "flowers" died. It was a little crazy, but we ended up with a few good pics of them all looking. We printed them and framed one for their anniversary present...Nanny was really excited!

Pedicure with Sophie

I have started an expensive habit with Sophie and her pedicures. I think I am going to have to take her with me from now on. She loves it and is really good during the process. Right now I only pay $5-$10 for the polish change (sometimes fingernails too). The ladies at Perfect Nails (Kroger shopping center on South Church Street) have been doing my nails for years and have seen me through both pregnancies (they still remember when I came in right before Sutton and how crazy big my stomach was). They are sweet to Sophie and give her special treatment. Next time they will probably have the little kid chairs in so we are looking forward to that!

My Little Helper

I went to a party at Amber's for a friend of hers who is selling Norwex products and ended up bringing some of Amber's cleaning rags home with me to try them out. You don't have to use cleaning products...just water for most things. This was a great way to let Sophie help me so I didn't have to worry about all the chemicals. I will say I enjoyed the products and ordered a few for myself. Chad wasn't so sure about it, but says if it got me to clean (which I did a lot of while I had Amber's) then it was worth it:)

T-Baller's

I pulled out the t-ball set they got last summer and set it up in the back yard. I enjoyed teaching Sophie a little technique and she did a pretty good job. Can't wait to see what she decides to do when she gets a little older...will she be a baller? a dancer? a singer? So many talents...

Sutton is still a little young and will need to work on it a little more:)

Sophie's Flower Arrangement

This was Sophie's flower arrangement that she made from the flowers Chad was working with for a bridal bouquet. She had strategically put leaves in the vase to "decorate". She told us that we could have someone come over for dinner and they would say "Sophie, I love your decorations." I think she is going to have her daddy's talents!

Brandon's Birthday Dinner

Aunt Deborah got an impromptu dinner organized for Brandon's 25th birthday and we met up at Farmer's Family Restaurant. I had given Sutton ranch dressing to "dip" his food in...pretty much the only way I get him to eat anything:) I turned around and he had it all over him and in his hair. There was an older couple across from us who had watched him doing it and got a kick out of it. He is a mess!

Happy Birthday Brandon!

Gardening with Daddy

Chad was working on his gardening and the kids were happy to help. It is great that they love being outside with him. Sutton did get a little carried away, but Sophie is at an age where she can really be a help.

Our table got messed up in a storm last summer so we had dinner on the kids picnic table. Got Grandaddy to bring us a table the next day after sending this picture:)

Fortunately, the kids love bath time. Sophie even helps wash Sutton's hair.

Eliza and Brigham's Baptism

Eliza and Brigham were baptized on Sunday. We celebrated with brunch at their house afterwards.

Lunch with Jenny and Brittany

Sophie, Sutton and Marlee...no chance of a pic with all of them looking:)
Chad, Sophie, Sutton and I headed to Nashville for lunch on Saturday. Brittany was in town from Baltimore and visiting Jenny so we met up with them. We had a great lunch at The Pharmacy in East Nashville. The burgers were great and it was a good place for the kids as we were able to sit outside and let them play while we were visiting.

Grandmama and Grandaddy's Anniversary

We celebrated Grandmama and Grandaddy's anniversary (a day late) with dinner at Demos's. It is crazy how big our group is when we eat out now. As you can see, it is a little wild:)

Happy Anniversary!

The Perry's

We watched The Perry's at Farmer's Family Restaurant on Thursday night. It was a great concert, but the kids weren't as good as they were the last time. I think we made the mistake of letting Sutton out of the high chair too early...they just got restless.

Dressing Up...

Grandmama and Sophie playing outside in her dress up clothes while Sutton was napping. She is such the little princess:)

Stroller Fun

The kids have so much fun playing together. Of course they have their moments, but I love to see them having fun together!
