Sophie's Exersaucer

Chad put Sophie's exersaucer together on Saturday. Her little short legs don't reach the bottom yet, but we put a pillow at the bottom and that helped. She seems to like it so far.

We went to a Japanese Steakhouse for dinner Saturday night with Aunt Amber, Uncle James and Cousin Karlee. Unfortunately we do not have a picture since the battery was dead.

Happy Birthday Cousin Chelsea!

We celebrated Cousin Chelsea's 19th Birthday on Friday night with a family dinner at Aunt Deborah's. Sophie and Eliza had a good time playing together again.

Bathtime with Grandmama

It seems like Grandmama gives Sophie all her baths these days. She started giving her baths in the sink and Sophie loves it. Grandmama also pulls Sophie up while on her changing table and it is so cute because Sophie opens her mouth as she is doing it every time. Grandmama takes good care of her!

Feeding Frenzy at PSF

Our church participates in the Presbyterian Student Fellowship at MTSU by providing food a couple of Thursdays each semester. Chad and I started helping serve the food last spring and Chad is now on the board. We took Sophie with us to serve on Thursday night (we got there late so we weren't that much help to Miss Judy and Janet). The students are doing great things in the community and in their missions.

The Cow Outfit

Sophie wore her cow outfit to Nanny's on Thursday (thanks to Karlee for passing it on). Sophie is going to learn all about the farm and animals at Nanny and Grandpa's. Sophie also got a picture in her cow seat at Nanny's.

Tummy Time

Sophie really doesn't like tummy time (it usually ends up with spit up), but we are trying to make her try it more. She still hasn't rolled over yet, but we think it will be soon:)

I Don't Want To Nap

I stayed home from work on Tuesday and spent the day with Sophie. I knew that her grandmothers had said she wouldn't sleep by herself for her naps and that they needed to hold her to get her to sleep, but I was determined to prove them wrong. My child had no problems sleeping for the first 2 1/2 months of her life. We had to try to wake her up for pictures most of the time. I have to say that they were right about this one. She would not go to sleep. It wasn't that she was fussy the entire time, she would just lay there and play or coo and babble. She just doesn't want to miss out on anything. I thought I would get a lot done staying home, but I spent most of my time trying to make her sleep. I finally gave in and held her for about 45 minutes so she could take a nap midday. Then I had to get ready so that Chad and I could go to see a show with Amber and James (We went to the Boiler Room Theatre to watch My Fair Lady). Anyway, by the time I needed to get ready she was so exhausted and fussy. I sat her in front of the TV to watch cartoons for a while and that worked, but the first picture is what happened when I laid her down to nap on her own. I don't understand her not napping. I thought for sure she would be like her Mama and love to nap. Guess her Daddy is rubbing off on her. She is still sleeping well at night despite about a week of waking up once to eat during the night (the books say it is a growing spurt). Now she is back to sleeping from about 10-10:30pm until 5:30-6:30am. We are truly blessed!

Katie and Shane's Baby Shower

We celebrated the upcoming arrival of the newest addition to the Lamb family on Sunday night. Katie is due mid March and will be adding another little boy for Sophie to play with. We helped with the shower along with Michael and Elizabeth and Jennifer and Brian (at Jennifer's house). Chad new Katie and Shane liked the sock monkey so he made the theme around that and "the things little boys are made of". The sock monkey is sitting up and braced with a wall of brownies...I don't know how he comes up with these things!
We had italian food and played a few games that got everyone involved. I tried out a Baby Memory game that included using candy bar names to match up with baby stuff. For instance "baby giggles" matches with "snickers". It took a while for everyone to catch on, but ended up being a fun game. We also gave groups a stack of baby magazines and a few trashy gossip magazines and had them cut and paste different photos to show what they thought Katie and Shane's baby would look like. We got some interested pictures and it ended up being a four way tie:) We can't wait to meet baby Nate!!!

Sophie's 16th Week at Church

Happy 19th Birthday to Cousin Chelsea (we will be celebrating at another event but this was her actual birthday). Sophie stayed awake all morning and all through the service, but was wiped out by the time we left. She fell asleep in Chad's hand as we were trying to make our way out to the car and kept stopping to talk to everyone.

Sophie and Her Thumb

I just think it is the cutest when Sophie sucks her thumb. This her new trick this week.

Spending the Day with Aunt Amber and Cousin Karlee

Aunt Amber watched Sophie on Friday. When Karlee woke up she put Sophie in her crib with her and she was so happy to see her. They had a good day playing together. When I got there at the end of the day Amber had all the clothes and burp clothes they spit up on laying out over the chairs. Sophie finally took a nap while Aunt Amber was holding her.

Eliza Comes to Play

Eliza and I washed dishes while Sophie finished her nap with Uncle Michael. Then Eliza got to play with Sophie. They are so cut together. Eliza is like a little mother with her. She wipes up her spit up and tries to make her stop crying with a pacifier. You can tell Sophie enjoys having her around. I'm sure they will be great friends!
