Sam's Bridal Tea

We helped host a bridal tea for Chad's cousin Lee's fiance, Samantha. Sophie was wiped out from a long morning and church so Nanny got her to sleep for a little while. Chad made the flower arrangements and came up with a unique way to display the vegetables and dip. Everything turned out so beautiful. When Lee came to help load up all the gifts, he brought Sam's little dog and Sophie went crazy over it. She loves dogs and just cracks up. Too bad her parents aren't dog people.

Sophie's 42nd Week at Church

Cousin Nathaniel was at church and Sophie spotted him from the front when the service was over. She couldn't wait to get to him!

Uncle Dustin Proposes!!!!

On Friday evening Chad got a call from Aunt Jennifer (she had him on speaker phone). I was in the living room feeding Sophie and got a picture text from Andriana. It was a picture of a ring on her finger saying "Look what I just got." I calmly say..."Chad...come here" and he comes in the room, still on the phone, but with Uncle Dustin at this point. I was like...is this a joke??? I knew it was for real when I realized he was talking to Dustin and could hear the excitement in his voice. They wanted to hear my reaction through the phone when they were talking to Chad. I didn't give them the initial reaction they had expected because it was such a surprise that I thought maybe they were joking. Not that I didn't think they would get married...because I knew they would. Just that I thought for sure Dustin would have talked to Chad about it or we would have known when it was coming. But Uncle Dustin kept it a big surprise (Aunt Jennifer didn't even know). He proposed to her out on the tractor. They were both dressed to "go to town" that night but he had been out on the tractor riding Grant around before she got there and he said he wanted to show her something at the tobacco patch. The ring is gorgeous and we are so excited for the two of them. We went out on Saturday to see them and it ended up being a gathering of other family members to see the ring and congratulate the newly engaged couple. Looks like it may be a long engagement (Andriana still has two years left at MTSU) but no date has been set yet.

Sophie and Her Cousins...

Grandmama, Aunt Amber, Uncle James, Karlee, Aunt Carrie, Uncle David and Trey all came over for a impromptu cookout. The girls had a great time playing with Sophie's shopping cart...until Karlee ran over Sophie (yes I took a picture before I helped her up....so bad). You can see that Sophie is standing up on her own now. She has pretty good balance, but I still think she is a ways from taking a step. The night ended with Grandmama giving Sophie and Karlee baths in the sink.

Making our Rounds...

Sophie and I went to Lebanon on Tuesday and had lunch with Daddy. We went by his work and let all the ladies ooooh and ahhhh over her. Mrs. Jamie showed Sophie all around and she especially loved the dolls.

On Wednesday morning we went to Eagleville and played with Grant and Nanny and then had lunch at Granny's. Nothing like a good southern meal for lunch (better not do this too often).

Busy Monday with Mama

Sophie and I went to Nashville and had lunch with Christy, a dear friend of mine from Girls State. Christy had her little boy, Gaines, three days after I had Sophie. She was due at the end of October, almost a month before me, but I ended up having Sophie 2 1/2 weeks early and she went late. We met for lunch often when we were pregnant but this is the first time we've seen each other in 10 months. We can't wait to introduce Sophie and Gaines!

After lunch we had a meeting at the AOII house with the new house girls and house director. Sophie had a good time and enjoyed all the attention.

We ended the day with revival and enjoyed the wonderful music and worship!

If you are wondering why I was out with Sophie instead of at work, I lost my job on Friday. We are doing fine and I am enjoying this precious time with Sophie as I look for something else.

Sophie's New Hair Do

Chad had fun playing with Sophie's hair after church. We are thinking about all the fun things we are going to do to her hair as she grows up.

Sophie's 41st Week at Church

We spent pretty much all day at church. Revival started and we had a potluck dinner before the evening service. Sophie got to play in the fellowship hall while we ate dinner. We started off the week right.

Fishing at Nanny and Grandpa's

We had a fun afternoon of fishing and grilling out at Nanny and Grandpa's. They have stocked the pond with fish cleared a trail for the golf cart. Sophie enjoyed looking at the fish when they were caught...soon enough she will be fishing on her own. For now we enjoyed sitting back and watching.

Grandmama and Grandaddy were at our house when we got home. You can tell Sophie was a little tired. She has this sweet way of laying her head on your shoulder now....I just love it!

Suzy Visits Sophie

Suzy stopped by to see Sophie on her way back to Atlanta. She is expecting her second child, a little girl, in November. Liam stayed home with his Daddy when she came up for a doctor visit. We can't wait to welcome the new baby in November.

Determined Little Girl

Sophie really likes to mess with the plant. Yes...we could move it and avoid the situation all together, but we have decided to make her learn that she can't pull the leaves off. Chad was holding her leg as she tried to get to the plant (don't worry we weren't hurting her). Next thing you know, she is sitting between the plant and her toy looking at us as she slowly reaches to touch the plant. Look at those eyes!!! She know what she is doing:)
