Celebrating Grant's Birthday at The Discovery Center

Grant turned 2 on the 5th and we met up at the Discovery Center in Murfreesboro to celebrate (the real birthday party was on Saturday). Jennifer worked her last day on Thursday so she had the day off. Her friend, Jamie, and her two sons (almost 2 and 9 months old) met up with us too. This was our first time to visit the Discovery Center and we loved it!!! It is only $6 for adults and kids under 2 are free. I think a year family membership is just $75 (I think we might get one). The kids had such a good time playing in the little "tot" area. It is a gated area with all kinds of soft things to climb, roll and slide down. We just stood outside the area for the most part and let them do their own thing. They also enjoyed the different play stations in the area for 2-5 year olds. They had a little area for tools/construction, post office, Kroger, a little house with kitchen and washer and dryer and a music station. Nanny helped Sophie and Grant figure out how to do the different tasks. There was a big tree in the middle of the room with a little balcony they could climb to (three steep steps). At one point I was playing with Grant and turned around and Sophie was out of my sight. Jennifer was sitting on a bench and yelled...she is up in the tree. I ran (seemed like in slow motion) around the tree and got to the steps in case she tried to get down. She was just peeking over and laughing out loud...she was so proud of herself. We all went to Sal's Pizza afterwards for lunch. They have a pretty good lunch buffet...kids eat free.
