Happy 1st Birthday Cousin Grant!

Grant turned 1 today (the party is Saturday). Sophie gave him a balloon and animal crackers and they got to spend the day together at Nanny's. The smiley pictures are of Sophie watching Nanny sing "If You are Happy and You Know It". This is also what Nanny was doing the first time I heard Sophie laugh out loud...I guess she is "happy and she knows it". Soooo...cute!

I cannot believe it has been a year since Grant was born. I can remember the day like it was yesterday. We had gone to eat at Sunset Grill in Lebanon (another wonderful Meat and Three) for Uncle Michael's birthday on the night before. Ginger and Jennifer came by to get me in Murfreesboro and I drove them so that Chad could just stay in Lebanon after work and we could ride back together. Jennifer had packed her bag since they would be even further away from the hospital. We even talked about how few people actually have their water break on the way to the restaurant. Then Chad's phone rang around 2am in the morning and I woke up out of a deep sleep so fast and jumped out of bed. Jennifer's water had broke! I was so excited!!! We rushed and got ready and called them when we got in the car and started on their way. We were surprised that they hadn't left their house yet. We ended up at the hospital just after they had (we stopped for gas and were a little further away from the hospital anyway). It started out with just immediate family, but the crowd grew as the morning went on. She started pushing around 3pm and it lasted for about 2 hours before they decided to do a C-section. Grant was born around 7pm. It was a long day, but we wouldn't have missed it for the world.

Happy Birthday Grant!!!
