We don't have much of a yard, so Chad has made the best of the patio space we have. We had seen a cedar planter box at the garden show earlier this spring and he was sure his dad could build one. The ones we saw were $200 and Don built this one with just about $30 in materials. It looks amazing! Chad has planted bib, iceberg and romaine lettuce as well as cabbage, carrots and onions. We have been picking lettuce as we need it for salads and it is so good! Chad has also started adding fresh herbs that he has planted on the side of the house. The basil, oregano and cilantro add such a great flavor to our salads. Talk about being a hippy...we are making our own baby food and growing our vegetables!
