Aunt Tara stopped by to visit on her cross country trip from NY to LA. She is starting a PhD program in Psychology in LA. She stayed with us for about a week when Sophie was two weeks old...needless to say, Sophie has changed a lot since then. Sophie got lots of fun gifts from Aunt Tara (to add to the many that she has already gotten in the mail). We celebrated Tara's birthday (August 26th) and gave her a gift also. Grandmama made Aunt Tara her favorite "Southern" meal of chicken and dumplings, "cracker barrel" beans (also known as pinto beans), fried okra, cole slaw and corn bread. Tara and her friend Terry were running a little behind and didn't make it in until about 10:30pm. Sophie was struggling to stay up, but got to visit for a little bit before crashing. Aunt Tara managed to eat her southern meal as well as her birthday cake she (better than sex cake). Aunt Tara got a fun surprise in the morning when I put Sophie with her after I fed her so she could cuddle with Aunt Tara while I finished getting ready for work. Grandmama came over to babysit and made her famous pancakes for Tara and Terry. I came home to say bye to them and found the paparazzi taking pictures of Sophie...there's no telling how many pictures that got of her. We said our goodbyes and and they were off on their way to LA (at their own pace). We were so excited to get to see Aunt Tara and look forward to a trip to California soon.
