We went to the World Turtle Day celebration at The Discovery Center on Saturday afternoon. I had seen a sign at the Wilderness Station and thought Sophie would enjoy it since she loves to say "turtle." They were giving away turtle ice cream (Chad says this is the only reason I wanted to go). Sophie got a turtle painted on her cheek (didn't last too long and we had to wipe it off before it was all over her and her clothes). We learned about a few different turtles and Sophie even touched them. It was pretty hot out...I think I was ready to leave 5 minutes into it all. I really need to be prepared for this kind of weather this summer...urgh!
