Decorating "My Christmas Tree"

We had such a fun time decorating the Christmas Tree. I think Chad was excited that someone was excited as he was to decorate.
Sophie had to kiss each ornament when she put it on the tree. Luckily that didn't last the whole time.
I sat on the couch with Sutton next to me while Sophie brought over boxes of ornaments for me to open. She would get excited with each one, we would talk about what ornament it was and who it belonged to.  She would show Sutton and tell him about the ornament and then run over to Chad so he could "put a hook on it" and hang it on the tree. We had quiet the assembly line going on. Sophie tried to put my shoe ornament on my foot...
and then tried to get it on her foot. Too cute! Sophie had such a good time decorating the tree and she didn't break anything. Unfortunately, Daddy broke two of his super hero ornaments. I think he "fixed" them with super glue or something.

Back Home with My Babies

I couldn't resist getting a picture of Sutton napping. He has a thing about needing his hand on his face. Grandmama has started getting him to sleep the same way she would do Sophie when she was his age. He loves the touch of a hand.
Sophie does a "naked dance" after she gets out of the bathtub and runs around with her towel on her head. Her Daddy started this and she gets upset if she can't do her dance.
Chad and Sophie started putting up the tree on Tuesday night. Sophie had been so excited about "my Christmas Tree" and knew the boxes had it in there.

Sutton's 11th Sunday at Church

Chad took the kids to church and then lunch at Granny's before coming to the hospital to be with me for the day. Mom left a little after lunch and there was a little time in between when I was alone and I just lost it and started crying. I missed my babies so much and was so frustrated with being sick and in the hospital. I guess I had been holding it in before and just thinking I would go home after one night and then after two. I know the doctor thought I had completely lost it when he told me I would have to stay a third night.
I was very thankful that the kids were taken care of and were having fun with family and barely even noticing I was gone. I didn't realize how happy I would be when Sophie didn't want to talk to me on the phone b/c she was busy playing. I was just happy that she wasn't sad and missing me.

Not So Happy Birthday

I turned 31 in the hospital on Saturday. Chad switched off with mom and brought be a balloon and my birthday gift. I told him to take a picture even though I knew I looked rough. He helped me get a shower and wash my hair so I looked a little better in the next picture. Wow...what a way to celebrate a birthday! Guess I will never forget this one. Chad did work it out with Elizabeth to Skype with Sophie that night so she did get to tell me Happy Birthday.

Happy 30th Birthday Daddy!!

We went to Granny and Papa's for Thanksgiving dinner and Nanny brought a balloon and brownies with icing for Chad's birthday. Sophie called the brownies "Daddy's birthday" and enjoyed licking the icing off.
We managed to get a few pictures. I wish I would have gotten more throughout the day, but I didn't feel well all day (found out the next day it was pneumonia).
It wasn't the birthday I would have wanted to have for Chad. He was cooking all morning and taking care of the kids while I slept b/c I felt so bad. All he wanted to do was put up the tree, but that didn't happen. He and Sophie did watch Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and they enjoyed that. Sophie was really cute that morning when she sang Happy Birthday to her Daddy. We had worked on it for a couple of days and I was so proud of her.
Granny won't be able to hold Sutton too much longer since he is getting very wiggly and almost jumps out of her arms!

Thanksgiving at Aunt Amber's House

Big Dave (aka Papaw) and Aunt Joan, Devee, Jeffrey and Lexie came down to Middle Tennessee to celebrate Thanksgiving. It was the first time in a long time that we have all been able to get together at the same time. It helps that David, Carrie and Trey live here now. I guess we out number the East TN crowd and we have babies so that helps get them down here:)
Karlee wanted to wear her tutu with her outfit...too cute. The girls had a good time and were so excited to see each other.
Grandmama had Sutton smiling and laughing...as usual.
Amber set up a long table so we could all sit together. Of course we still had a few that chose to eat in front of the TV (Big Dave).

Aunt Amber picked up a cupcake for Chad since it was also his 30th birthday! Sophie wanted to help blow out the candle:)

Thanksgiving Church Service

The community church service was held at our church this year and it was great to get out and fellowship. We had a great service with a preacher from a neighboring church and lots of great food afterwards. I was up and walking around the entire time and probably should have taken it easy since I ended up in the hospital with pneumonia two days later.
Chad put together the centerpiece once again. The tree stumps his dad and brother cut have come in handy:)

Sutton's First Bath at Nanny's

Nanny came to our house on Wednesday morning (after Grandaddy helped out for a couple of hours after Chad went to work). After we had lunch she loaded us up and headed to Eagleville. Amanda and Joyce washed and dried my hair at the beauty shop (first time since my surgery last Friday). Nanny gave Sutton a much needed bath before we got ready for the Thanksgiving service at church. This was the first time I had gotten out of the house since the surgery and I was definitely not back to normal.

Thanksgiving Table Decorations

Chad had a beautiful Thanksgiving table arrangement. November was a blur and can't believe it is already time for Christmas decorations!

Sutton's 10th Sunday (at home)

Chad took Sophie to church and Grandmama and Grandaddy stayed with me and Sutton at the house. Chad didn't take the camera, but Nanny took pictures with her camera and I put them on my computer when she brought Sophie home. Sophie stayed out and played all afternoon and went to dinner with them before coming home. Forgive me for not getting a picture of Sutton since I was barely off the couch at all.
I got a picture text from Jennifer of Sophie on a horse and had to call and make sure they were getting good pictures for the blog. She loved it! I wish I could have been there to see her.

They also jumped on the trampoline at Aunt Annie and Uncle Randall's after the horse riding:) Sophie sure does like jumping. It was so nice that Sophie was able to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather on Sunday and it gave me time to rest and Chad a chance to organize the upstairs and work on putting Sutton's nursery together (I know it is about time since he is 2 months old).

Oh The Pain...

So the surgery went well...at least that is what the doctor said. I am in a lot of pain and haven't been much further than the couch and the bathroom. I think he had to do more than he anticipated and told Chad he did 7 inches of muscle repair and I have a 3 inch incision. I have an abdominal binder on so I haven't seen anything yet (and it makes me a little nauseous to think about it). I can't bend or really hold on to Sutton so it makes it hard. The doctor said I would be down for 3 days and feeling back to normal in 7 to 10 days...I hope he is right, but it is hard to imagine right now. I will keep y'all updated. I did some back posts if you want to check out the older posts.

Surgery Tomorrow...

I've been working on updating the blog tonight, but realized I haven't mentioned my surgery. I go in for the umbilical hernia repair tomorrow morning and the surgery is scheduled for 11am. It should only take about an hour and is an out patient surgery. I'm not sure how the recovery will be since he can't really tell me how long I have to go without lifting until he sees how much work he has to do when he gets in there. He will be repairing the torn muscle that was also a result of the pregnancy. I'm a little nervous about the unknown, but know that I will have lots of help with the kids between Chad and our moms.

The Newest Addition to The Lamb Family

Liza Marie Friese made an early arrival on Thursday morning (just a couple of weeks early). Deanna is Chad's first cousin on his Dad's side and has Lane (4 months older than Sophie). Liza is weighed 7lbs 4oz and is doing well.
I had an appointment in Franklin and mom was with me and the kids so we left straight from there and headed to Gallatin to see the precious little girl. I knew I wouldn't get to see her for a while if I didn't go then since I was having surgery the next day. We are excited to have another girl on that side to join Sophie and all the boys!

Sutton's 2 Month Picture

Just a few days late:)  He is such a happy baby and has really been smiling and interacting this past month. He loves his sister and watches her when she is around. He is so strong and holds his head up like a big boy.
When I took pictures of him on the changing pad Sophie had to get down there and get her picture taken too!
My two babies are so cute...I just want to eat them up!
Sophie has always talked to Sutton, but she was just saying..."hi Sutt, hey buddy." In the past few weeks I've been encouraging her to talk to him about what we are doing, where we are going and who we are going to see. All I had to do was prompt her a few times and now she is talking to him all the time...it is so cute! I'll say to her..."Sophie, we are going to eat lunch with Grandmama and Morgan" and she will turn to Sutton and say "we're going to eat with Grandmama and Morgan, Sutton." She is such a big girl these days.

Sutton's 2 month and Sophie's 2 year Appointment

I scheduled both their checkups on the same day since they were just a week or so apart. I took them to the appointment by myself and wasn't sure how that would turn out. Luckily, everything went very smoothly.
I took them in double stroller to keep Sophie out of all the  toys in the waiting room, but she was checking everything out in the room once I let her out. She did well getting weighed on the big girl scale and measured against the wall. Sutton was just as good as usual and didn't even cry until he got his shots.
Sutton weighed 12lbs and 5oz and was 23 inches long...50th percentile for height, weight and head.
Sophie weighed 25lbs and was 33 inches tall...25th percentile for height and weight and 75th for head!

Both of them were meeting all the right milestones for their age. Sophie showed off and he said she was doing things he would expect of a 3 year old. We talked about the paci and he suggested we cut the tips of them so that it is more her choice to get rid of it b/c it doesn't work. We will definitely be trying this once I have recovered from the surgery. They both did so well during the appointment and I was so proud of them!
