Cason's Family Birthday Party

We celebrated Cason's Birthday will all the Lamb's on Sunday afternoon. Managed to get a cousin picture again...it is getting a little easier. Next thing is to get them all smiling. Sophie found one of Cason's ride on toys and hopped on. She was funny driving it b/c she was too busy looking around and everyone watching her and not paying attention to where she was going...we are going to be in trouble:)

Lunch at Grandmama's and Grandaddy's

We had lunch with Grandmama and Grandaddy after church. They made roast, mashed potatoes, cole slaw, carrots, limas, corn bread and deviled eggs. For some reason Sophie always eats the vegetables Grandmama makes...guess I need to season mine a little more. We had a nice lunch and then headed back out to Eagleville for cake and ice cream with Cason.

Sophie's 67th Week at Church

I think she is going to be an entertainer. This is what she did when we told her to "sing". As you can imagine from the way it looks, it was pretty much just screaming. Just hope she gets her Daddy's talent.

A few updates...

I forgot to mention that Sophie got two teeth this week (the two on either side on her bottom teeth). Unfortunately I didn't catch on to this right away and stayed up till 4:30 one night before I thought to stick my finger in her mouth (don't really do that too often...too dangerous).
After a little Tylenol she finally went to sleep. Not sure if it was the Tylenol or the fact that she had been up all night. Regardless, both teeth came through by Friday.

On another note, we started limiting the paci to night time (and naps maybe). We just started Saturday morning and she has done really well so far. I think as long as she doesn't see it she will be fine. I tried to bribe her to get in her bed to go to sleep, but that didn't work. She got a little upset when Chad made her leave it in the bed this morning, but was fine after a few minutes. I think this is a good step to take. I can already tell she is a lot more vocal...maybe not clear words, but lots of jabbering.

Cason's Birthday Party at Chuck E Cheese

Cason had his "friend" birthday party at Chuck E Cheese on Saturday. This was our first experience at this fine establishment and it was crazy!!! I can't imagine going there on a Saturday without a birthday party reservation...there was a line out the door to get in. Sophie rode the cars with Grant and seemed to really enjoy that, but there wasn't a whole lot for her age. Cason got to wear a special hat and got all kinds of special attention from a worker assigned to making his birthday a good experience. The kids got up and danced when Chuck E Cheese came out and Sophie was right out there with them. She really got into the excitement and clapping when they tried to get the kids excited. She wasn't too scared of the mouse, but wasn't so sure about it. We had a good time with the cousins. Sophie even ate some cheese pizza (of course she loved it like her mama). I can't believe Cason is already 4 years old!!!

Prayers Needed

Please keep my friends Kevin and Candace in your prayers. After 5 months of a perfect pregnancy, Candace went into labor on Friday and delivered their little boy. He was only 12.6 oz and 9 3/4 inches long. There was nothing they could do to keep him alive. My heart breaks for them as they have to deal with this situation. I just pray that they will have peace in the coming months.

Happy Birthday Jay!

We celebrated Jay's 11th Birthday with the Truitt's on Friday night. We met at Logan's and had a great time. Jay got a cell phone for his birthday so it was fun texting back and forth when planning dinner. I can't believe they are growing up so much!

Note to self...

Give a bath AFTER you feed black beans!

Dinner with Amanda and Wyatt

Amanda and Wyatt came over on Thursday night. We got to watch him while she ran out to Target (although he slept in his carseat the whole time). Sophie wanted to climb in there with him and we really had to watch her...she loves him, but she can be a little too rough.

Training her right...

I was doing laundry and left the door open while I was transporting to the bedroom. I come back and Sophie had the swiffer out and really looked like she knew what she was doing. I don't know where she learned that...she doesn't see me doing it:)

Fiddler on the Roof

We met Amber and James at the Boiler Room Theatre on Tuesday night to watch Fiddler on the Roof. It was a great performance and we really enjoyed it. We have seen a lot of the shows over the past 3 seasons and have always been impressed with the quality of the productions. We go on Tuesday nights when it is two for one...just $25 for two tickets. The concession is very reasonable - $1 for a drinks and candy, $2 for popcorn. We definitely couldn't go to the movie theater and spend less these days. The theatre is small and there really isn't a bad seat, but it is open seating so you have to get there a little early. The shows start at 8pm and the doors open at 7:30pm. Fiddler on the Roof is just playing till the 27th and I'm not sure if there are tickets still available, but you should check it out if you can!

My 10 week appointment

Aunt Morgan came with us to my doctor's appointment (thank goodness). By the time we made it back to the room she was getting tired. Aunt Annie works in the office and she gave her a big hug when we saw her. I got to have an ultrasound again since it was still too early to hear the heartbeat with the doppler. Sophie was having a complete melt down as it was happening...guess she got scared to see me laying back and not being able to be with me. I was so glad Morgan was there to take care of her and share in the excitement of seeing the baby moving around. We saws arms, legs, a strong, healthy heartbeat and a brain:) Dr. Scott says everything looks great!

I had gained 1lb (not bad compared to the 10 I probably gained before I even had my first appointment). I am starting out a bit higher than I did with Sophie so I'm going to try and keep it under control. We'll see how that goes...I have a feeling I am going to get huge!

After the appointment we at lunch at Calypso with Aunt Morgan. We had the black bean salad and it was wonderful! I didn't realize they even had a Calypso in Cool Springs. I have a feeling that will be our lunch spot after appointments this time around. We stopped in Eagleville on our way home so that Morgan could meet Wyatt. Amanda and Aunt Joyce thought it would be a good idea if Sophie held Wyatt. I was a little nervous, but she did alright. She liked to pull his paci out and kept doing it after Amanda laughed at her. She got a little rough with him when she was ready to get him off her lap. Luckily I was standing right there. We let her feed him the bottle for a second, but I think she really wanted it so I had to end that. She loves her little cousin!

So I have been pretty nauseous with this pregnancy. I never threw up with Sophie but felt sick sometimes. I didn't think it was bad at all with her (although Chad says I complained everyday). I have thrown up once so far, but really have to hold back often. I have already started having heartburn (didn't start till last trimester with Sophie). Overall, I would say I feel worse this time, but I still don't think it is as bad as some morning sickness so I shouldn't complain.

A Baby Shower for Cousin Luke

Chad and I put together a family shower for Jennifer and Brian on Sunday after church. There is no such thing as a "small" family shower with our group so there were around 50 people. Chad likes to entertain and wanted the control over everything so he only gave out a few things for others to bring. Uncle Michael brought his broccoli cheese soup, Grandpa made pimento cheese sandwiches and Aunt Jean made her wontons. Chad was busy on Saturday (I helped a little, but nothing compared to all he did). We had tomato basil soup, chicken salad sandwiches, hot spinach and artichoke dip, veggie pizzas, a strawberry and mango salad, fruit (in the watermelon baby stroller), cake and a yummy banana punch. I made the cake and Chad decorated it Saturday night after we got home from Eagleville. As you can see, he went with a blue and green argyle theme. He cut pieces of fabric to lay out argyles on the table and filled glass containers with pacifiers, blocks and baby toys for an extra touch. He is so creative! We had a great lunch and celebrated the upcoming arrival of baby Luke. The cousins had a great time playing together and Chad and I kind of forgot to watch Sophie too closely until she got blue dry erase marker all over her beautiful pink dress (I had just taken the tags off that morning). I was almost sick to think she had ruined the dress (and I didn't even get a good picture first). Chad has been working on getting the stain out...I will give an update later.

Chelsea's Birthday Party

We celebrated Chelsea's 20th birthday at Aunt Deborah and Uncle Bill's on Saturday night. Sophie, Grant, Eliza and Nathaniel had a great time playing. It was so cute to see them doing ring around the roses. Eliza does the singing and you could tell Sophie knew what was going on because she did the "we all fall down" before she even got to that part. Too cute!

Date Night at The Parthenon Grille

We had a little date night (with Sophie) on Friday night. The Parthenon just opened their new restaurant across from the old one and we wanted to try it out. We were very impressed. The atmosphere was great. The new restaurant has a lot of character and is so much bigger. I think our server said they had hired 25 new servers. We didn't have to wait long for a table and the food was great. We love the parthenon dip appetizer (only $5). We were pleased to see that the prices seemed more reasonable. They now have a 7oz sirloin on the menu for $10. I had a 6oz filet for $16 (I don't think that is too bad) and next time want to try the Mahi Mahi for $14. The baked potatoes were huge and the salad was very good. So if you are looking for a nice meal out in Murfreesboro and want to avoid all the chains, we definitely recommend The Parthenon Grille:)

Sleepy nights...

So a few nights this week I woke up on the couch after midnight realizing that we had all fallen asleep on our couches. One night Sophie must have fell asleep after us (oops). She had stickers and entertained herself by going back and forth between us putting them on our hand and moving them to the other person. I think she ranked out a bit of Chad's arm hair:) Anyway, when I woke up this is what my hand looked like. Chad had taken Sophie to her bed and when I got her up the next morning she had a few stickers in her hair and one on her face. The couch has turned out to be a great thing to have. Sophie loves sitting/laying on it at night while we watch TV and wind down.

What a Mess!

Sophie insists on feeding herself now. As you can see, it can be a bit of a mess. I don't always let it get this out of control, but I knew I could just give her a bath afterwards. I know I have to let her try things on her own, but it is so hard to watch this happen:)

Valentine's Day Gifts...

Throughout the day, the grandparents stopped by to give Sophie her Valentine's Day gifts. She is so fortunate to have so much love in her life!!
